Built on faith in nature: 50 years of trust

Since starting in a small aloe greenhouse in 1976, we have sought out the finest raw materials and used science to reveal their value.
Three stories share the choices and challenges we faced along the way.

Not the fastest path,
but one you can trust for the long run

We have respected nature, verified it with science and grown together with people.
Guided by that belief, we carry nature's potential forward into a healthier future.

Why you can trust us

5 reasons to trust Univera

  1. 01

    One mission,
    kept for 50 years

Since 1976, Univera has grown with one mission at its core: “Bringing the best of nature to humankind.”

  2. 02

    Company-owned farms
    for better raw materials

We have gone out into the world to find the best growing regions, pioneered aloe farms and managed our raw materials from the moment they begin to grow.

  3. 03

    Research that turns
    experience into science

Through the Aloe Research Foundation (ARF) and the CAP (Creation of Aloe Pharmaceuticals) Project, we have systematically studied aloe's components and beneficial properties.

  4. 04

    Standards that run
    from raw material to product

By connecting cultivation, research, processing, production and quality control, we make sure the value of nature is fully captured in every product.

  5. 05

    Trust built
    together with people

Univera's 50 years were built on the time we shared with farmers and researchers, producers and employees, authorized dealers and UPs (Univera Partners), and our customers.

Three stories

Story 01

One man's experience
became a beginning for all

In the 1970s, the late Chairman Yunho Lee, Univera's founder, experienced the benefits of aloe firsthand and wanted to share them with more people. In 1976, when even the name aloe was unfamiliar in Korea, he set up a small greenhouse in a corner of his business site in Hyoseong-dong, Incheon, and achieved Korea's first successful trial cultivation of aloe.

His wish to share the gifts of nature led to the founding of Namyang Aloe Nongsan in 1984. Univera's beginning was not simply the start of a business. It was the start of a mission to connect nature's potential with healthier lives for people.

A wish to share something good with more people:
that is how Univera began.

Story 02

In search of the best aloe,
we went out into the world

Aloe is a plant whose quality varies with climate, soil, and growing and processing conditions. To secure a stable supply of raw materials and uphold its own quality standards, Univera chose to run its own farms overseas.

Starting with Hilltop Gardens in Texas, USA, in 1988, we expanded our growing bases to Gonzales Farms in Mexico, Hainan Island in China, and Campeche in Mexico. Through severe frost, drought and barren wasteland, we kept working the land and planting aloe.

Univera did not go global simply to grow in scale. We did it to secure good raw materials whose origin and handling we know, and to take responsibility for their quality all the way.

Because good products start with good raw materials,
Univera found the land and grew its own aloe.

Story 03

Beyond aloe,
to Univera

Univera did not stop at growing experience. It went on to research aloe and reveal its beneficial compounds through science. The research capabilities built along the way expanded to a wide range of natural products and became the foundation for turning nature's value into Health Functional Food and cosmetics.

In 2006, marking its 30th anniversary, Namyang Aloe changed its name to Univera. The name combines Uni, meaning “one,” and Vera, meaning “truth,” and stands for “the one and only truth.”

A promise to extend the truth of nature found in aloe into the broader fields of natural products and wellness. That promise made Univera what it is today.
